What Causes Dengue Fever in Cancún
Peak mosquito season lines up with peak tourist season. Cancún’s rainy season, roughly June through October, fills hotel planters, pool furniture, and construction runoff with standing water, exactly the breeding conditions Aedes aegypti mosquitoes need. Dengue Fever Symptoms: Mild, Serious, or Emergency

- Sudden high fever, often 104°F (40°C)
- Severe headache, especially behind the eyes
- Muscle, joint, and bone pain
- Nausea or mild vomiting
- Mild rash appearing 2 to 5 days after the fever starts
- Fatigue
